“Sips & Sounds,” a monthly acoustic event at El Calle Food and Music Hall, will bring a relaxed, slightly indie vibe to Newport World Resorts as up-and-coming musical acts take the stage for the final quarter of the year. The event promises exciting new music, delicious food, and a mix of drinks at one of the resort’s signature bars.
Aiming to highlight Filipino talent, the monthly acoustic show offers a platform for emerging artists to shine. “Sips & Sounds” will showcase musical acts making waves in the local scene. On September 13, starting at 8 p.m., Filipino-Omani rhythm and blues artist Jason Dhakal and singer-songwriter Clara Benin will headline the night, performing acoustic sets of their latest hits and crowd favorites.
Dhakal, known for using music as an emotional conduit, connects with his audience through his authentic and soulful performances. Benin, the daughter of a former member of an iconic OPM band, has made a name for herself in the local music industry with her laid-back style and captivating vocals. Together, they represent a new breed of Filipino artists who highlight the power of music.
