Katrina Paula finds happiness, peace after sexy movies

BARING skin — or so much more — is just an ephemeral phase in many a sexy actress’ life.

Thankfully for erstwhile boldie Katrina Paula: “I’m way past that stage!”
Looking back, the fair-skinned actress has no regrets having been relegated to daring roles she couldn’t imagine herself to be doing.
On the contrary, Katrina had turned her image to her advantage — proving she can do more in the serious acting department.

In fairness to her, all throughout her career as a sexy star, she said not once had she been disrespected or been a victim of shaming.
“Yes, I admit that was the image I projected on screen, but I didn’t live it in real life.”

Self-respect. This — as far as the mother of four is concerned — should be any boldie’s paragon in life.
It is the same lesson which Katrina wishes to impart to her industry peers, if not contemporaries.

Is she referring to a fellow former sex siren in particular?
Out of the blue, her bosom friend Sabrina M randomly ran across her mind upon this writer’s mention. Are they not the closest of friends, if not like sisters?

For a moment, Katrina paused, only to modestly say she was instrumental in Sabrina snagging an important role in Jeric Raval’s latest flick.

Much to Katrina’s surprise, everything sort of reared its ugly head when during its recent preem night, Sabrina staged a “scene.”

“She was throwing looks at me while repeatedly saying: ‘Kung asensado ka na sa buhay, iapak mo ang dalawa mong paa sa lupa!’ (If you’re already successful in life, be humble!)”
Despite the embarrassment, Katrina kept her cool — telling herself that not once has she bragged about her achievements.

Next thing was, Katrina found herself proceeding to the exit door without watching the film en toto.
But doesn’t her friendship with Sabrina go a long way? And isn’t it true that Katrina even bailed her out of jail (where she stayed for two and a half years) sometime in 2019 on drug charges?

“Ah,” Katrina remembers, “in fairness to Sabrina, I made a promise to her. I told her I’d get her out if I sold my house in Parañaque.”

Aside from facilitating Sabrina’s release (for which she had to shell out nearly a hundred grand): “Ugly as it may sound, the undies she wore since Day 1 were the same undies she had until she got released. So I had to buy her a new set, but it’s already immaterial.”
If all her help extended to Sabrina doesn’t matter, what does Katrina want Sabrina to realize?
She says matter-of-factly: “I think the least she can do is to refrain from picking up fights with her former colleagues,” citing the likes of Nini Jacinto, Camille Roxas, Alma Soriano, among others.

“If all of them have turned hostile toward you, then it’s you who have a problem…not them!”
Katrina hastens to add that indeed, envy is a deadly sin: “What Sabrina is envious about is the fact that I chose to make my life better. Never have I done drugs, why would I allow it ruin my life? Bold star na nga ako, why would I not lift myself up?”
Of course, they had happier times back then — what is it that Katrina wants Sabrina to do to make amends?
“Now that we’re old, it’s best to reflect on our lives — what have we done to make them better? What have we achieved for our families?”

Without honking her horn, I discovered that all four children of Katrina are doing incredibly well — her eldest is a licensed pilot, her next child is with the media while the two others are currently studying at a reputable university in Manila.
Once in a while, Katrina gets film offers but is still planning to produce movies anew on the side.
Talk about what life has in store for her: “As they say, ‘If life gives you lemons, make lemonade’!”
