FEDERATION of Free Workers (FFW) President and Nagkaisa Labor Coalition Chairman Sonny Matula said he would run again for senator in next year’s midterm elections.
“I accept the challenge of mainstreaming pro-worker and pro-people governance that Filipino workers and marginalized citizens have long been yearning for,” he said during the Workers Party Philippines convention on Saturday.
Matula was voted party president, while former FFW president Allan Montaño was elected secretary general. Ariel Arias and Oscar Morado were voted chairman and senior vice president, respectively.
“It’s a difficult journey, but one we can’t afford to miss. Workers thirst for genuine public servants,” Matula said.
Matula ran for senator under the Liberal Party during the 2022 national polls.
