Two gates of Magat Dam were opened on Saturday morning to release water, data shared by PAGASA showed.

At 8 a.m., the said gates were open up to 3 meters.

The reservoir water level (RWL) at that time was at 187.81 meters, which is near the 190-meter normal high water level (NHWL).

On Friday, Magat Dam had only one gate open at 1.0 meter, with its RWL at 188.06 meters.

Magat Dam is located along the Magat River and straddles the provinces of Ifugao and Isabela.

PAGASA said parts of Luzon will be affected by the trough or extension of Tropical Storm Bebinca (formerly known as Ferdie when it was still inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility) on Saturday.

These areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms. —KG, GMA Integrated News
