President Ferdinand Marcos on Thursday dismissed rumors of changes within his administration, emphasizing that any updates regarding the Cabinet or government positions will come directly from Malacañang.

“If there are any changes in the Cabinet or the government, we will be the ones to announce it. Not anyone who just posts something online. They don’t know anything; we will be the ones to announce,” President Marcos said in an interview.

The president clarified that as of now, there are no changes within his Cabinet.

“As of today, there are no changes. That’s it,” he added.

The President’s remarks came after reports circulating online that Gilbert Teodoro has tendered his resignation as the Department of National Defense Chief.

President Marcos, however, laughed off the rumors, calling the reports ‘fake news’. He also called on the public not to believe the rumors.

Earlier, Presidential Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez said that the President’s trust and confidence in Teodoro has never wavered.

“Rumors to the contrary are pathetic attempts to sow disunity in an organization united in protecting our people and defending our territory,” Chavez said in a statement.

“Busy as they are with their mission, we should spare our fighting men from the corrosive politicking that has no place in their ranks,” he added.
