President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. rallied his party mates at the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) to ensure they are well organized as a political organization for the 2025 elections.
Speaking at the party’s national convention and general assembly, Marcos there is no room for complacency in every election.
“I’m very glad that we can see that there is progress that is happening as we move on in preparation for — well, filing is our next big event. And, we have now within the PFP organized ourselves properly so that we can already look at not only the personalities who are going to be involved, the personalities who are going to be candidates but also those who are going to run the campaign,” Marcos, the party chairperson, said.
“Nonetheless, we still have to be very well-organized […]
(Nonetheless, we still have to be very well-organized […] Even if your candidate has good credentials, even though you have the financial resources, even if you have good survey outcomes, all of these will be wasted if you don’t have an organized campaign.)
“Marami tayong nakikitang ganyan na naging complacent, na parelax-relax…tapos natalo na nga. Hindi natin pababayaan na mangyari ‘yan any of our members, for that matter, for any those na naging kasamahan na natin sa alyansa,” he also said.
(We have seen many candidates who became complacent and they lost after. We will not allow that to happen to any of our members and anyone part of the alliance.)
Marcos said that PFP will help candidates from its allied parties during the midterm elections.
“We have to be sincere about the alliance we are creating with the other parties. Siyempre tutulungan din natin sila at magtutulungan talaga tayo, that’s really the best way, kasi may synergy ‘yan,” the chief executive said.
(We have to be sincere about the alliance we are creating with the other parties. We will help them and we will help each other, that’s really the best way to create synergy.)
Marcos ran for president under the PFP in the 2022 national elections.
PFP earlier inked alliances with the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, Nationalist People’s Coalition, National Unity Party, and Nacionalista Party.
Following the national assembly, Marcos said the party will embark on preparations leading to the filing of the certificates of candidacy like “scheduling, logistics, moving people.”
So, okay na siya,” he said.
(Of course, we will have a senatorial lineup. Where will I lead them, where are the local areas that need help, there are also areas where we say we can’t be defeated, and there are also areas where we don’t have competitors.)
(Things happen fast now, unlike before when we campaign based on what we have planned. Now, it’s different, we have to adjust, that’s why we need to be organized to we can respond right away.)
Marcos also reminded his party mates that there’s always give and take in alliances.
“Let’s get down to as much detail as we can but always remembering that we are doing this in consonance with other parties who have their own interest, so it’s give and take,” he said.
“But there’s the PFP of course… we will stand by our members and we always say this,” he added.—Vince Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
