Actress and singer Maymay Entrata has announced the upcoming release of the English version of her hit song “AMAKABOGERA,” three years after the single was initially released.
As a way to tease fans for the anticipated version, Entrata shared some of the things that empower her, as the song aims to foster confidence among its listeners.
“AMAKABOGERA (English Version) is all about showing the world what makes you feel confident. That’s why I would like to share with you some of the things that make me feel confident po,” the singer-actress said in her post on Instagram.
The post featured photos of fictional characters such as Disney’s Mulan, Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke, and Wonder Woman—as portrayed by Hollywood actress Gal Gadot. Entrata also added a few quotes from the Bible.
Initially released as a single for her third album “MPOWERED,” Entrata’s “AMAKABOGERA” rose to prominence as it had been used as part of the official soundtrack of several films such as Chris Martinez’s “Here Comes The Groom” and Jun Lana’s “Ten Little Mistresses.” It has also inspired a different version altogether by drag queen Marina Summers titled “AMAFILIPINA,” which she debuted during her time on the show RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs The World Season 2.
According to Entrata’s original post announcing the upcoming song’s English version, it will be released by the end of September. As of writing, the original version has 9 million listens on Spotify and its official music video has more than 25 million views on YouTube.
