METRO Manila has been placed under Signal No. 1 along with other neighboring provinces as the volume of rainfall is expected to reach 100 to 200 millimeters in these areas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

In a press briefing, Pagasa Administrator Nathaniel Servando said Tropical Storm Enteng continued to slightly intensify.

“The tropical storm is also expected to enhance the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat’ which will further bring more rainfall in many areas in the country including Metro Manila,” Servando said.

Pagasa’s hydrology division said that Ipo Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan has started to release water.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, the water level was 101.30 meters or 0.20 meters higher than its normal high water level of 101.10m.
