Metro Pacific Water Solutions (MPWS), the newly-rebranded water and wastewater technology company, plans to acquire new technology to improve its wastewater treatment business.

MPWS president and chief executive Christopher Andrew Pangilinan said in an interview during the launch of its new name the company was looking for new technologies given the rapid change in the water and wastewater treatment operations and to expand its capacity.

“We are looking for new technologies that are more compact and suitable for the local market,” Pangilinan said.

MPWS, formerly Ecosystem Technologies International Inc. (ESTII), is a leading wastewater solutions company with over 25 years of technical expertise in wastewater treatment and reuse, water treatment and water resources management.

Since 1995, it has designed, built and operated over 600 projects. It offers a comprehensive range services, including design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Its clients include major malls, offices, commercial and residential property developers, hotels and resorts, hospitals and industrial facilities. The company was fully acquired by MPIC in 2023.

MPIC said the acquisition of MPWS solidifies the strategic importance of water and wastewater management within the group’s diverse portfolio, which spans vital sectors such as water, energy, toll roads, health and agriculture.

“Today, we embark on a new chapter with the rebranding of Metro Pacific Water Solutions. This transformation represents our unwavering commitment to delivering sustainable and innovative water solutions for the Filipino people.” said Pangilinan.

“We are excited to leverage the combined expertise of the old Ecosystem Technologies brand and Metro Pacific Group to create a lasting positive impact on our environment and communities. We remain dedicated to our mission of partnering with the government in protecting the environment and ensuring access to clean water for all,” he said.
