Authorities arrested Yang Jian Xin, the eldest brother of former Duterte adviser Michael Yang, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday night.

Yang was apprehended by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) based on a mission order due to his status as an undesirable alien.

PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz indicated that Yang was likely attempting to flee the country, noting he carried P1.4 million in cash and various foreign currencies.

Yang possessed multiple Philippine-issued IDs under the name “Antonio Maestrado Lim,” a firearm permit, and a luxury watch valued over P2 million.

Cruz stated that Yang’s use of a false identity constitutes a violation of immigration laws, leading to potential deportation proceedings.

The arrest was disclosed during a House Quad Committee hearing, where Rep. Dan Fernandez highlighted Yang’s ownership of several corporations linked to illegal activities.

Fernandez alleged that Yang’s businesses could be involved in drug trafficking and smuggling operations through a warehouse in Cagayan de Oro.

Michael Yang, previously linked to illegal POGO operations, faces ongoing scrutiny for his connections to drug-related activities in the Philippines.

The BI confirmed that Yang Jian Xin will be deported once all legal matters are resolved.
