The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said more alleged victims are coming forward with claims that Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy abused them.
PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said some of the alleged victims are minors who approached authorities while the arrest warrant was being served against Quiboloy and his cohorts in the KOJC compound in Davao City.
“During the police operation at the KOJC compound, there were various individuals who approached the PNP, saying they were also victimized by Pastor Quiboloy,” Fajardo said in an ambush interview in front of the PNP Custodial Center.
She did not reveal if the cases of abuse were sexual in nature. According to her, the cases are still in the documentation process.
The police official also reacted to a Davao City Council resolution that called for an investigation on the admission of Police Regional Office-11 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III that he allowed the unauthorized use of police uniforms by civilians taking part in the search for Quiboloy inside the KOJC compound.
“Well, that’s their right. We have said since the beginning that if someone files a case, that is their right. On the part of the PNP, we will deal with all cases filed by any party,” Fajardo said.
“The PNP maintains that whatever actions they did during the 16-day police operation is within the parameters of what is written in our police operational procedures,” she added.
