MANILA, Philippines — The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) maintained its final decision on banning “Dear Santa,” originally titled “Dear Satan,” saying the film’s positive depiction of “Satan” is an attack on fundamental Catholic and Christian beliefs.
The film “Dear Santa” had previously been given an X rating after being found in violation of Presidential Decree No. 1986, Chapter IV, Section F, Subsection (c), “such motion pictures, television programs, and related publicity materials or advertisements thereof, that in the judgment of the Board, clearly constitute an attack against any race, creed, or religion.”
