Before she was brought back to the Philippines, Alice Guo was questioned by operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation on Thursday regarding a notarized document as well as her reported doppelganger and NBI clearance.

The dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac was asked while they were waiting for the release of a clearance from the Indonesia’s Immigration authorities, a requirement for her before she could leave Indonesia.

NBI Special Task Force’s Atty. Joselito Valle first asked Guo if she knew a lawyer.

Guo answered, “Marami” (many).

Valle then asked her if she knew “Atty. Galicia.”

Guo said while smiling, “‘Yung nagnotaryo? Oo, kilala ko” (The one who notarized [the document]? Yes, I know him.)

Asked when was the last time she met Galicia, Guo then stopped smiling and said she will not answer the question.

NBI Assistant Director for Investigation Service Atty. Lito Magno then showed Guo a photo on his cellphone and asked her, “Ikaw ito?” (Is this you?).

Guo shook her head.

Magno then asked her, “Sino ito?” (Who is this?).

Guo said, “Si…ano po… Tao ko po ‘yan” (That’s…ah… She’s part of my staff.)

NBI Violence Against Women and Children Division chief Atty. Yehlen Agus then told Guo, “Kamukha mo ah.” (She looks like you.)

Guo replied: “Lahat halos ng tao ko, [may] long hair.” (Almost all of my staff have long hair.)

Pressed further, Guo then said with a smile, “Slimmer version.”

The photo shown Guo was reportedly a doppelganger of Guo.

According to a source, Guo may be using doppelgangers to act as decoy to throw off Bureau of Immigration, NBI, and Philippine National Police operatives from from her track.

Valle then asked Guo if she obtained an NBI clearance before.

Guo said she seemed to have obtained one before she became mayor.

NBI Director Jimmy Santiago and the NBI Dactyloscopy Unit earlier said they compared the fingerprints in an NBI clearance of someone named “Alice Guo” to those of a “Guo Hua Ping.” The fingerprints matched, they said.

This led the NBI to declare that Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping were one and the same person.

Guo was arrested in Tangeray City by Indonesian Police before dawn last Wednesday.

She was officially turned over to Philippine authorities on Thursday and returned to the country early Friday.

Guo faces a number of legal troubles, among them her reported link to the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban.

She also has an arrest order issued by the Senate for repeatedly skipping the hearings into the raided POGO.

Guo also faces a money laundering complaint, tax evasion complaint, and material misrepresentation in her mayoral candidacy papers, among others.

The embattled mayor is currently in the custody of the PNP and held at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The Tarlac court which ordered the arrest of Guo on graft charges has granted the Senate’s request for her to appear in the continuation of the legislative investigation into the illegal POGOs.

The said court likewise ordered the PNP Custodial Center to bring Guo to the Senate on Monday. —with a report from John Consulta/KG, GMA Integrated News
