The implementation of the expanded number-coding scheme in the National Capital Region has been suspended on Monday amid the prevailing inclement weather, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

“In view of the inclement weather brought about by typhoon Enteng and southwest monsoon, the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or Number Coding is suspended today, September 2,” the MMDA said in an advisory.

Classes have been suspended in some Luzon and Visayas areas due to Enteng, which is officially classified as of Monday morning as a tropical storm.

As of 4 a.m. Enteng (international name: Yagi) was located over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte, according to state weather bureau PAGASA’s bulletin.

The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 998 hPa.
