THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday night announced the reopening of its Planetarium at its central office in Quezon City on Monday, September 9.
In a statement, the state weather bureau said that renovations of the planetarium — which first opened in 1977 under the Pagasa’s Astronomy Research and Development Section and Atmospheric, Geophysical and Space Sciences Branch (AGSSB) — have been completed.
“The renovated planetarium will continue to offer educational and entertaining shows about basic astronomy and the night sky,” the Pagasa said.
“With a 90-seating capacity, it serves as a venue for learning and understanding the universe by offering lectures on the basics of Astronomy and celestial navigation to students and the general public,” it added.
It has an entrance fee of P25 per person and is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
