The Office of the President has named Jesse Andres the Officer-in-Charge, Chairperson, and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

The memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, dated September 20, will take effect immediately. It is addressed to Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and other ERC members.

According to the memo, the appointment is intended to ensure the ongoing delivery of public services in the ERC until the President names a permanent replacement or further instructions are issued.

Andres, currently the Executive Director of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), is authorized to receive representation, transportation allowances, and other benefits upon assuming his duties.

Funds for these allowances will be drawn from ERC appropriations, subject to available resources and audit regulations.
