Rain or Shine rode on a strong endgame push to pull off a 122-107 win over struggling Phoenix and get back on track in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Elasto Painters thus improved to a 5-1 slate to bounce back from a tight loss against San Miguel last Thursday when they endured a painful 113-112 setback on a June Mar Fajardo game-winner.

Adrian Nocum posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds alongside five assists, one steal, and one block while import Aaron Fuller poured 16 markers, 11 boards, two dimes, two blocks, and one steal with both players leading their fourth quarter assault.

Rain or Shine was in full control throughout the first three periods until the Fuel Masters unloaded a huge run capped by a Javee Mocon basket that gave them a 97-95 lead in the fourth.

But the Elasto Painters responded with a 12-0 blitz closed out with back-to-back triples from Gian Mamuyac as they cruised to a 107-97 cushion while another 7-2 rampage led by Nocum and Fuller had them enjoying a 114-99 advantage.

Andrei Caracut put the finishing kick with a three-pointer of his own to fend off the skidding Phoenix.

Jhonard Clarito chipped in 10 points while Caelan Tiongson and Felix Lemetti added eight markers apiece to help the franchise bolster its hold of the solo lead in Group B.
