COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit was immediately clamped down after selling P3.4 million worth of shabu to anti-narcotics agents in an entrapment operation on Tuesday, September 3, in Barangay Talub in Tamparan, Lanao del Sur.
Gil Cesario Castro, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, told reporters on Wednesday that the entrapment operation that led to the arrest of militiaman Alonto Calauto Pampa was premised on reports by provincial officials about his large-scale trafficking of shabu in Lanao del Sur.
Castro said Pampa was detained by PDEA-BARMM agents and non-uniformed personnel of the Tamparan Municipal Police Station and the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office after turning over to them half a kilo of shabu, costing P3.4 million, during a tradeoff in Barangay Talub, planned with the help of the office of Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr.
Besides shabu, PDEA-BARMM agents and policemen also confiscated from Pampa a .45 caliber pistol, according to Castro.
Castro said Pampa, an active CAFGU member, is a resident of Barangay Cabasaran in Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur.
