MANILA, Philippines — Police have identified persons of interest in the killing of a police official and his wife in Muntinlupa on Monday.
Col. Jean Fajardo, chief information officer of the Philippine National Police, said investigators have the names of the people who might be involved in the murder of Capt. Aminoden Mangonday and his wife Mary Grace, 40.
“Probers are looking into a personal grudge or business as the possible motive,” Fajardo said at a press briefing.
She did not disclose other details about the persons who are under investigation.
The Mangondays had just celebrated the birthday of their 12-year-old daughter when they were shot dead by an unidentified assailant at their house in Barangay Alabang on Monday.
Mangonday died from a gunshot to the head. His wife succumbed to multiple gunshots to the body.
The couple’s daughter is recuperating in a hospital from a gunshot to the face.
Capt. Fernando Niefes, who heads the Muntinlupa police station’s investigation unit, said Mary Grace recently filed cases of qualified theft against three former employees of her online cosmetics business.
