MANILA, Philippines — With no tropical cyclone in sight, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday that the country would have fair weather Sunday.
“It would be fair weather condition over the next 24 hours in many areas including Metro Manila which is affected only by the localized thunderstorms,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
She said that tropical depression Igme, which has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, continues to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat.
The southwest monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon particularly Batanes, Ilocos Region and Babuyan Islands where overcast skies would be likely, Pagasa said.
The same weather system will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
