MANILA, Philippines — Police already have leads on where former presidential spokesman Harry Roque is hiding.
Tracker teams of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) are searching for Roque after the quad committee of the House of Representatives issued an arrest order against him.
“We already have leads but we cannot reveal yet,” CIDG spokesperson Lt. Col. Imelda Reyes said over radio dzBB yesterday.
Reyes, in a phone interview with reporters, said they are validating the information which they have received from people on the ground.
Among these is a closed-circuit television footage of Roque in an area which she refused to specify so as not to jeopardize the manhunt for the former presidential spokesman.
“Someone confirmed that he was seen in that area, that’s why we are still validating it,” Reyes said.
She warned that people who may be coddling Roque could face charges of obstruction of justice even if they are former government officials.
The Philippine National Police on Wednesday said Roque is still in the country based on their coordination with the Bureau of Immigration.
