MANILA, Philippines — Actress-singer Selena Gomez is the latest individual to reach billionaire status, according to financial data and media company Bloomberg.

At 32 years old, Selena is one of the youngest self-made billionaires in the United States, with a net worth of $1.3 billion (P73.1 billion).

Bloomberg noted that a bulk of Selena’s wealth originates from her makeup line Rare Beauty she founded in 2019, on top of the earnings she gets as an entertainer and from brand endorsements.

The latter gives Selena a huge boost, especially through Instagram, where she has 424 million followers. Selena is currently the most-followed woman and the third-most overall behind football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on Instagram.

Apart from her makeup line, Selena is also a popular endorser for brands, such as Puma and Coach. She was reportedly paid at $30 million (P1.69 billion) and $10 million (P562 million) for each, plus she invests in real estate and on the mental health platform she co-founded called Wondermind.

Selena also makes $6 million (P337 million) on each season of “Only Murders in the Building,” which was just renewed for a fifth season. Her role in the mystery comedy-drama series finally earned her an acting Emmy nomination.

And, of course, she has music royalties from her songs like “Come & Get It,” “Same Old Love,” and “Kill Em With Kindness.”

Her good friend and fellow artist Taylor Swift made headlines last April for entering the billionaire list because of the latter’s ongoing “Eras” tour.
