A 16-year-old student has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting a 19-year-old schoolmate on school grounds in Numancia, Aklan.
According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Kent Abrigana in “Saksi” on Wednesday, the police said that the suspect’s group and the victim’s group had an altercation.
The victim was shot in the abdomen with a sumpak or improvised 12-gauge shotgun.
“According to a witness, the suspect got something from his sling bag which he used to shoot the victim. But the suspect said that he just grabbed it from someone from the other group,” said Numancia Municipal Police Station deputy chief Police Lieutenant Rizal Padilla in the vernacular.
Meanwhile, the school principal said that the students involved already have records with the police station.
The victim is in intensive care, while the suspect is already in the custody of the local social welfare department.
