A woman on a wheelchair and her daughter were injured after they were hit by a motorcycle while crossing a road in Nagcarlan, Laguna.
According to Dano Tingcungco’s report on 24 Oras Wednesday, CCTV footage showed the two victims were crossing the road when a fast moving motorcycle suddenly appeared.
Due to the force of impact, the two victims were thrown to the ground along with the rider. The two women suffered injuries and fractures and were immediately rushed to the hospital.
The rider claimed he did not immediately notice the victims crossing the street. He promised to cover their medical expenses.
“Nagkasundo na kami sa usap na lahat ng gastusin sa ospital ay sasagutin ko,” said the rider who will also repair or replace the wheelchair.
“Pasensya na kayo sa mga nangyari eh hindi ko rin kagustuhan. Aksidente talaga, pasensya na talaga sa inyo,” said rider Rommel Almario.

More than 20,000 road accidents occurred outside Metro Manila last year, 12,000 of them involved motorcycles, based on data gathered by GMA Integrated News Research.
