However, its trough will still continue to affect parts of Luzon on Saturday, PAGASA said. PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail in Occidental Mindoro and Palawan because of the trough of Kristine.

President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday directed the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Agriculture to ensure enough supply of goods in areas affected by the onslaught of Kristine.

Four dams in Luzon meanwhile had some of their gates opened on Saturday morning to release water, data from PAGASA showed.

Ipo Dam, Ambuklao Dam, Binga Dam, and Magat Dam are the dams involved, according to PAGASA-Flood Forecasting and Warning Section. —KG, GMA Integrated News
