House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo and ACT-CIS party list donated P1 million in cash and more than 2,000 sacks of rice to victims of Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine” in the Bicol Region.
“This is a humble contribution from ACT-CIS and the Erwin Tulfo Action Center. This is our way of helping our kababayans in Bicol who are victims of the flooding,” Tulfo said.
The lawmaker, who was recently conferred as an auxiliary commodore of the PCGA, instructed his chief-of-staff PCGA Auxiliary Commander Jerico Javier to personally deliver the P1-million cash donation and 1,000 sacks of rice to the officials of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The said amount was a personal donation from brothers Reps. Eric and Edvic Yap.
The PCG would take charge of distributing the cash and rice donations to tropical cyclone victims in the Bicol Region.
Meanwhile, the office of Tulfo and ACT-CIS party list also coordinated with the Angat Buhay Foundation of former Vice President Leni Robredo for the donation of an additional 500 sacks of rice that would be brought to the foundation’s warehouse in Quezon City. Around 500 sacks of rice were also given to residents of Iriga City and other Bicol cities devastated by the storm.
“We, at ACT-CIS, would not stop in providing help, whether or not there is a calamity. We would continue to extend help and would look for ways on how we could provide more assistance to our fellow Filipinos,” said Jeff Soriano of ACT-CIS party list.
