Oktoberfest is a well-known celebration originating from Germany that involves sharing large glasses of beer, delicious food, and fun music with dear friends throughout the night. With its lively festivities eventually attracting global attention, it made its way to the Philippines, where many iterations of the iconic event have sprouted across the country.

Eager to continue its previous commemoration of Oktoberfest, Newport World Resorts is set to hold its second edition with a much more authentic and larger celebration.

Hilton Manila General Manager John Lucas shared how the hotel’s first Oktoberfest last year was a success, and expressed his hopes for an even bigger event this year, aiming to provide an authentic experience for attendees.

“Oktoberfest, ladies and gentlemen, is all about authenticity, and what we’ve been able to do is capture a little bit of Munich right here in Hilton Manila,” said Lucas.

From Oct. 24 to 26, starting at 6:00 p.m., The Ballroom of Hilton Manila will be transformed into a traditional Bavarian beer hall, complete with classic long benches and festive decorations.

Servers will be dressed in traditional German clothing called Tracht, with men wearing Lederhosen and women wearing Dirndl.

Attendees will have the chance to enjoy classic Bavarian draft beers from the Weihenstephan Brewery, the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world. The beer will be paired with delectable food such as freshly baked pretzels, German rye bread with flavorful dips, Munich-style sausage salad, platters of pork bratwurst and frankfurter paired with tangy sauerkraut, crispy pork knuckle, chicken schnitzel, cheese-topped spaetzle, baked apple tart, and Kaiserschmarrn.

While partaking in the feast, guests will be entertained by the renowned Austrian band AnTon Showband, playing energizing Oktoberfest hits to keep the celebration going throughout the night.

Newport World Resorts VP for F&B Operations Knut Becker highlighted that this year’s Oktoberfest will be even bigger due to the team’s dedicated efforts in preparing for the event.

“Last year was the first [Oktoberfest], and it was a lot more difficult to convey the message of what we wanted to achieve. This year, having gone through one full cycle, it was much easier to put everything together. The team did an outstanding job. They all know now what Oktoberfest is about, and I have no doubt that you will see a better Oktoberfest this year,” said Becker.

Tickets are priced at P5,400 per person, with each ticket holder eligible for a special rate of P7,500 per room for an overnight stay at Hilton Manila, including breakfast for two during the festival. Guests can also opt for Holiday Inn Express – Newport City’s overnight stay package, which includes breakfast for two, for P4,000.
