Former deputy national security adviser and long-time Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson on Monday filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator for Eleksyon 2025.
Singson vowed to provide bank accounts to those in need as well as affordable modern public utility vehicle (PUV) units.
(For the masses, so I can continue giving bank accounts and credit cards to all our countrymen.)

In a separate interview, the 7-group-strong transport bloc dubbed as ‘Magnificent 7’ said they are backing Singson’s Senate bid because he has promised to supply them modern PUV units with a per unit price of P1.2 million, way lower than the current price of P1.6 million to P2.4 million at 6% interest per year for seven years.
(He will supply us with electric vehicles. That is the reason why people could not avail of them — the high price set by the suppliers. We got to talk to Manong Chavit. He said he will give an affordable price, no downpayment, zero interest.)

(It depends on you if you want to pay monthly, weekly, or daily.)
Singson repeated this statement on PUV modernization support on zero downpayment and zero interest when he faced reporters at the podium after filing his COC.
He last served as the mayor of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur from 2019 to 2022.
