Chocolate Factory, a reggae band from Angeles City, Pampanga, has released a new single titled “Tonight.” This track combines elements of reggae, R&B, and hip-hop, showcasing a smooth melodic flow that aims to captivate music lovers.
“Tonight” is a love song resulting from a collaboration with singer-songwriter JRoa, whose contemporary R&B and hip-hop influences enhance the band’s reggae sound. The fusion of these musical styles creates a fresh listening experience.
Regarding the collaboration, band frontman Antonio Brown stated, “We wanted to explore new elements in our reggae sound. When we met JRoa during our recent Australian tour, we felt that his musical style aligned perfectly with what we were looking to create.”
Drummer Khay Regala emphasized the desire to incorporate an R&B element into the love song, noting, “When we heard JRoa’s work, it was clear he would be a perfect fit for this collaboration.”
Bassist Louie Domingo shared his admiration for JRoa’s previous singles, “Oks Lang” and “Dati,” highlighting his ability to blend smooth vocals with clever lyrics.
JRoa expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “For me, it’s all about crafting and sharing authentic music. ‘Tonight’ allowed me to write a heartfelt letter to my wife, and I hope it reminds listeners to appreciate their loved ones. I pray this collaboration inspires other Filipino artists to connect with performers from different genres.”
Guitarist Mark Ocampo noted the strong chemistry during the collaboration, indicating a willingness to work with JRoa again in the future.
Looking ahead, keyboardist Boney Hipe mentioned fans can expect more catchy songs and dance-inspiring anthems.
“We aim to release as much feel-good music as possible,” he added.
“Tonight” is now available on major music streaming platforms, accompanied by an official lyric video.
