SEN. Ronald de la Rosa on Saturday welcomed the decision of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to release funds for rehabilitation initiatives of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
“We thank the Department of Budget and Management for listening to the concern of the Dangerous Drugs Board. We laud both agencies for working on a budgetary issue which we see as a fundamental matter that will have a huge impact in addressing the lingering problem of drug addiction in our communities,” de la Rosa said.
In a meeting on September 27, the DBM and the DDB addressed concerns related to funds disbursement and the utilization of money under the DDB’s Special Account on the General Fund.

“These funds will truly help the government implement its comprehensive plan to combat illegal drugs. I truly believe that these rehabilitation programs will achieve the administration’s goal to reduce drug use in the Philippines,” the senator added.
In 2023, a special provision under the General Appropriations Act allowed the DDB to access revenues from the Philippine Racing Club, Manila Jockey Club, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office, and Metro Manila Turf Club.
