Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara thanked the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) for its donation of computers to public schools.

Angara highlighted that both the IBPAP and DepEd share a goal to increase employment opportunities for senior high school graduates. Moreover, Angara called on the private sector to actively participate in revitalizing the school curriculum.

Reinforcing the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of the country’s youth, he encouraged companies to integrate the adopt-a-school program into their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Recently, private companies such as Rebisco and Landbank signed a memorandum of agreement which aims to help the DepEd with its projects.

Angara together with United States Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson, meanwhile recently led the launch of the ABC+ Project Expansion and the World Teachers’ Day Celebration at Malabon Elementary School.

The education secretary together with Ambassador Carlson engaged with grade 3 students as they conducted a read-aloud session, as well as the handover of early-grade reading materials.
