MINDANAO Container Terminal (MCT), a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), recently received the inaugural call of MV Ever Core, marking the start of a new joint service by Evergreen and Wan Hai Lines in Cagayan de Oro.
The bi-monthly service enhances MCT’s connectivity with key markets in Hong Kong and Taiwan, linking ports in Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Shekou, Subic and Cebu. This initiative strengthens MCT’s role as a vital gateway for international trade in Mindanao.
“This new partnership with Evergreen and Wan Hai further demonstrates our commitment to providing enhanced connectivity to Mindanao’s exporters and importers,” said Aurelio Garcia, MCT’s chief executive officer. “We’re confident that this service will bring greater value to the region’s agricultural sector and foster economic growth.”

The service operates a 1,984 TEU vessel, alternating with Wan Hai Lines’ Mindanao–Hong Kong–Taiwan (MHT) service. This setup addresses the timely export needs of coconut by-products, ensuring agricultural exporters can meet increasing global demand reliably.
MCT continuously enhances its facilities and expands service offerings to solidify its position as a crucial hub for international trade in Southern Philippines.
The terminal aims to support regional growth by introducing new shipping line services and increasing capacity.
Located in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, MCT develops, manages and operates the container terminal at the Phividec Industrial Estate. It plays a significant role in supporting the Philippines’ agro-industrial sectors and boosting its global reputation in the fresh and canned pineapple trade.
