For many people, the ideas surrounding love, sex, and the paranormal are often treated as topics for light conversation among peers. With the public steering clear of such conversations due to the prevalent culture of ignoring taboo or unconventional topics, these discussions are often held behind closed doors, with certain details left unclear or misunderstood due to the lack of knowledge of those talking about them.
As this practice allows the continued spread of incorrect information, three new programs of Radyo 630 and Teleradyo Serbisyo aim to turn the tide and shed light on what people may or may not have missed about these topics. These are dating coach Vanessa “Coach V” Antonio’s Love Konek, health specialist Dr. Lulu Marquez’s Private Talks, and psychic and paranormal expert Stargazer’s Feel Kita.
In Love Konek, Antonio will be sharing advice about love geared toward fostering ideal romantic relationships for listeners. From navigating the current dating scene to enriching the relationships of married couples, the show aims to help listeners build more meaningful connections in their lives.
Meanwhile, Marquez, alongside radio anchor Imee Estareja, will be discussing topics aimed at promoting positive sexual wellness and maintaining healthy relationships among partners in Private Talks. The show also advocates for comprehensive sexual education for Filipinos, enabling them to fully understand their sexuality as well as sex in general.
Completing the three programs is Stargazer’s Feel Kita, which aims to delve into topics surrounding the paranormal and help audiences understand them deeper. Stargazer also looks to guide people in their daily lives through a different kind of life coaching technique that utilizes her special gift as a psychic.
During a press conference for their respective programs, the three hosts spoke about how their shows focus on discussing topics that may be confusing to many but are too uncomfortable to talk about.
For Marquez, she aims to discuss more about sex to help people become more comfortable with it as well as improve their sexual wellness.
“In the Philippines, sex is supposed to be taboo. That was what I felt before. I didn’t even talk about sex. But as I got older, I began to see the problem. Many of my batchmates told me how they encounter problems during sex, and then we began to talk about it,” said the Private Talks host.
Antonio shared how she hopes to open people’s minds more about love and relationships during a time when online dating is a prevalent practice.
“We have to be taught how to love. Yes, we have the natural skill to love, but we do not have the natural skill to date. Love, even for children, is a natural thing, but dating and choosing your partner is not natural because it’s a skill,” said the dating coach.
Meanwhile, Stargazer said that since not a lot of people are open to understanding her work, some religious denominations oppose her practices, which has posed challenges at times.
“They always say that astrology and psychic readings are not allowed, but I always keep an open mind and don’t give any judgment. I always ask them to let us be if they don’t agree because they always have the option to listen and hear us out,” she said.
Love Konek airs every weeknight at 10:00 p.m., while Private Talks airs every Sunday at 12:00 a.m., and Feel Kita airs every Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Audiences can tune in to the shows on AM radio at 630 kHz, Teleradyo Serbisyo on free or cable TV, its official Facebook and YouTube pages, and on iWantTFC.
