A GROUP of health experts has expressed alarm over the increasing prevalence of metabolic-assisted fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in the country, especially with more Filipinos suffering from a “silent killer.”
During a media conference held in Taguig on Friday, Dr. Angelo Lozada, president of the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, said that fatty liver disease becomes prevalent among Filipinos as young as 30 years old, especially those who start to develop high cholesterol.
