Flooded areas in Metro Manila amid Kristine

Some areas in Metro Manila remained submerged in floodwater on Friday morning due to the rains brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

In a 6 a.m. update, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the following areas were still flooded:

  • Lacson España, 13 inches (subsided as of 1:45 a.m.)
  • España Boulevard-M. Dela Fuente Street, 19 Inches (subsided as of 4:19 a.m.)
  • España Boulevard-Vicente Cruz Street (subsided as of 4:19 a.m.)

The Pasig City government, in a 1 a.m. update, reported floods in the following areas, which are not passable to light vehicles:

  • Multipurpose, Karangalan,  Brgy. Dela Paz
  • Greenwoods Ave. cor. Sandoval Ave., Brgy. Pinagbuhatan 
  • Pinalad Road (and inner streets – Kaimito St, JP Riza St., and Durian St.), Brgy. Pinagbuhatan 
  • Urbano Velasco Ave., Brgy. Pinagbuhatan 
  • Dabba, Paraluman St., Bathaluman St., Brgy. Rosario
  • M. Eusebio Ave., Brgy. San Miguel 
  • Caruncho Ave., (in front of Pasig City Hall) Brgy. San Nicolas 
  • Eagles St. cor E. Rodriguez Ave., Brgy. Ugong 

In Valenzuela City, the flooded areas and roads as of 7 a.m. were:

  • MacArthur Highway
  • Passable to all types of vehicles
  • BDO, Dalandanan (4-5 inches)
  • Wilcon, Dalandanan (gutter level 6-8 inches)
  • Cuevas Malanday Cor. T. Santiago (half knee Level 9-10 inches)

Other areas

Passable to light vehicles

  • Lingunan Bridge (knee level 14-19 inches)
  • T. Santiago Lingunan (half tire level 11-13 inches)

Passable to all types of vehicles

  • Daang Bato Pinagbayanan, Lingunan (gutter level 6-8 inches)
  • Rubber Master Lingunan (gutter level 6-8 inches)

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said Metro Manila is under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2.

Kristine was located 125 kilometers west northwest of Bacnotan, La Union packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 115 kph.
