Food content creator Abi Marquez has made her first appearance on the U.S. morning show New York Living, a daily lifestyle show about food, fashion, and people in the city of New York.
Sharing her experience on the show, Marquez expressed her enthusiasm for being able to demonstrate how to cook for the hosts and staff. In her social media post, she shared that the dish she decided to make was lumpiang shanghai.
“In celebration of Filipino-American History Month, I made lumpiang shanghai. A dish that, to me, is a Filipino symbol of celebration and sharing—a dish that has the power to bring people together, from wrapping to eating,” Marquez wrote in her post’s caption.
She added that the show’s hosts and crew loved her dish.
“Effectively, it made everybody flock together behind the scenes. They loved it, and I had to cook extra batches off-camera,” said Marquez.
Marquez is known for her cooking videos, which have earned her numerous accolades, such as the Webby Award. She has also been included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and was named the TikTok Foodie Creator of the Year in 2023.
