THE Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) said it would resume issuing Postal IDs or Postal Functional Cards.

In the Philippines, the Postal ID is recognized as a valid government-issued identification document.

PHLPost said the document would enhance address verification for its customers throughout the country, ensuring the reliability of mail and parcel delivery.

An important feature of the new Postal ID is the online verification system for easy authentication, reducing the risk of fraud.

“We expect that people will be renewing or applying for Postal ID cards, and the public should be vigilant against scammers who may attempt to extract money or personal information via social media,” said Postmaster General Luis Carlos.

“Do not share personal or financial information via social media or other channels. Apply for a Postal ID only at PHLPost offices,” he added.

Carlos added that PHLPost plans to deploy mobile service stations for Postal ID applications across the country.

“Address verification services are fundamental offerings of postal administrations globally, and we are committed to enhancing our systems to better serve the public,” he said.
