MANILA, Philippines — American pop-rock band LANY is back in the Philippines for the four-day “A Beautiful Blur World Tour” concert tour in Bulacan and Cebu.

Lead vocalist Paul Jason Klein was in disbelief when he saw the venue full and packed with fans on their first show at the Philippine Arena on Oct. 12.

“I have never seen so many people in one place in my entire life,” Paul noted.

He became sentimental as he expressed gratitude to their loyal Pinoy fans, whom he described as the first ones to “understand” their band.

“Manila, you have been so, so good to us for so many years. In fact, I feel like Manila understood LANY before anyone else understood us. We owe so much everything that we have to you. Thank you for your love, support, thank you for choosing to be here tonight, you could be anywhere in the entire world, but you took time out of your busy schedule to be here with us,” Paul said.

During their back-to-back sold-out concerts, the band played their famous songs 13, ILYSB, Mean It, Malibu Nights, Thick and Thin, Thru These Tears, Pink Skies, I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore, and Super Far, to name some.

The audience was also shocked after Dilaw hitmaker Maki joined LANY on stage during the Out of My League performance.

The local guest performer also sang an acoustic version of his hit song Dilaw with the band.

Paul went down the stage to bond with LANY fans as he concluded the concert with a performance of XXL from the fifth studio album, A Beautiful Blur.

“Thank you very much for the best night of my entire life. LANY loves you so much, Manila. I will try so hard to thank every single one of you. For as long as LANY exists, we will always be here in the Philippines. Until we see you again. Will be thinking about you, have a great rest of the year take care of yourselves, take care of your family and friends,” Paul stressed before the whole band bowed to the audience.

Lead vocalist Paul Jason Klein turns sentimental as he describes the Filipino fans as the first ones to ‘understand’ their band.

In an Instagram post before their show, Paul looked back on the humble beginnings of their band.

“Tonight, my band — that made its first three episodes and a debut album on a Dell computer in a one-bedroom apartment in Hollywood — plays a sold-out show to 50,000 people in the largest indoor stadium (in the Philippines),” he wrote in the caption.

The Philippines is part of the Asian leg of LANY’s “A Beautiful Blur” world tour. The band last performed in the Philippines in 2022 for a five-day concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.

They brought their concert at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on Oct. 13 to 14, and will stage another one today.
