A strong magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Cagayan on Thursday morning at 5:39 AM, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvocs) reported.
Based on its latest information bulletin, Phivolcs traced the epicenter of the quake at 19.15 degrees north 121.02 degrees east – 020 km north 77 degrees west of Dalupiri Island in Calayan, Cagayan at a depth of 10 kms.
There were no reported intensities listed on Phivolcs’ earthquake bulletin.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are expected from this seismic activity but damage is unlikely.
