Singer-songwriter Arthur Nery is closing out 2024 with a bang, offering fans not just new music but also a major concert.

The R&B sensation released his highly anticipated sophomore album titled “II: The second” in September. This is his first album in five years, following the success of his 2019 debut, “Letters Never Sent.”

Arthur’s signature soulful sound, blending R&B with pop and heartfelt lyricism, has captivated the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene, and fans are excited to hear what he has in store next.

This new album comes with collaborations from artists like Kiyo, Jolianne, and Jon, creating a rich and diverse sonic experience. Certainly, fans can expect Arthur’s signature songwriting skills as he was also hands on in producing and arranging the said album along with his smooth vocals, clever wordplay, and emotive melodies.

Adding to the excitement, Arthur Nery will headline a solo concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 25. This marks his return to the iconic venue following his sold-out show in 2022 at the New Frontier Theater. Known for his chart-topping hits like “Pagsamo” and “Take All The Love,” the concert will likely feature fresh tracks from his new album, making it one of the most anticipated events in the OPM scene this year.

Warner Music Philippines and KDR Music House launched the “We Play Here” campus tour with a phenomenal line-up including British singer-songwriter Griff and rising OPM artists Stell, Dilaw, Playertwo, Arthur Miguel, Sugarcane, Paul Pablo, Letters From June, and Kahel.

We Play Here brings together local and international artists for a one-of-a-kind music experience through live performances and fan activities, starting the campus tour with UP Adcore at the University of the Philippines College of Science Amphitheater, UP Diliman, last August 23.

Setting the show in motion, the six-member band Kahel energized the crowd with covers of OPM hits along with their original compositions “Diwata,” “Prinsesa ng Gabi,” and “Beh Buti Nga.” Likewise, Letters From June serenaded the audience with their rendition of popular Filipino music and their debut single, “Bituin.”

Rising band Sugarcane, known for their multi-genre music, delivered striking performances of “Leonora,” “Paruparo,” and “Kung Maging Akin Ka,” along with a surprise appearance from Cup of Joe’s vocalist for their latest track, “Pagbigyan.”

Following this, singer-songwriter Paul Pablo owned the stage with alluring numbers of “Takaw Tingin,” “Hilo,” and their recent single “Atin Ang Gabi.” The performer also executed emotionally stirring performances of “Sagi” and “Di Inakala.”

Soon after, the long-awaited British act Griff, who notably toured with today’s top artists, such as Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and Sabrina Carpenter, finally greeted the audience.

Griff opened her set with her latest album’s title track, “Vertigo,” followed by her hit song “I Miss Me Too.” Subsequently, she staged a dreamy production of “Astronaut” and the melodic hit song “Anything.” Moving forward to her acoustic set, the English singer delivered “So Fast,” exchanging lyrics with the audience, concluding the night with “Shade of Yellow,” mesmerizing the fans with her crystal-clear vocal prowess throughout her set.

Arthur Miguel performed songs from his latest EP, such as “Ghinost,” “Maling Panahon,” and “Malabong Ugnayan,” with a surprise duet with track collaborator Jikamarie. With his dulcet tones, he stunningly delivered “Dito, Sa Ilalim ng Buwan” and the hit song “Lihim.”

Once hip-hop quintet Playertwo entered the stage, the attendees couldn’t help but join the hype with their dynamic energy. They performed “Let Me,” fluently flowing from one verse to another, followed by their viral song “That’s My Baby” with another unexpected guest, Australian singer-songwriter Oliver Cronin. On top of that, Felip elevated the vibe with his compelling presence as he joined the hip-hop stars for their collaborative track, “Flyyy.”

Afterward, OPM band Dilaw delivered their original tracks “Janice,” “Maskara,” and “Orasa,” as well as their immensely catchy recent single, “Nilalang,” that instantly had the audience vibing with its laidback melodic sounds. Concluding their set, Dilaw presented their remarkably successful track “Uhaw,” which fans naturally sang along to.

Lastly, vocal powerhouse Stell treated the audience with songs from his latest EP, “Classic,” and “Room,” electrifying the crowd with his charismatic performances. Furthermore, his brilliantly poignant execution of “Di Ko Masabi” and “Anino” stunned the audience, capping off the eventful night filled with a fusion of sounds and surprising stages of phenomenal talents.
