The Manila local government unit (LGU) on Sunday released an advisory for the observance of All Saints’ Day or Undas at the Manila North and South Cemeteries from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.

The advisory stated that the Manila North and South Cemeteries will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

During these dates, vehicles are not allowed to enter the cemeteries while burials and cremations will be postponed.

Meanwhile, cleaning, repairs, and painting inside the cemeteries are only allowed until Oct. 26.

Parents may bring their children as long as they have tags from the Manila Department of Social Welfare for easy identification if lost.

On the other hand, vendors will not be allowed inside the cemeteries as well as private and political groups holding events.

The Manila LGU also said only tents and tarps from its office are permitted inside the cemeteries.

“Ambulances and doctors from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and Manila Health Department will be on standby, with hospitals (Tondo, Sampaloc, Sta. Ana) ready for emergencies,” Manila LGU said.

It added that the Manila Police District will have skeletal personnel beginning Oct. 27 and full force starting Oct. 30.

The public was also reminded of the prohibited items inside the cemeteries:

  • Firearms and all kinds of sharp objects such as knives, cutters, spatulas, etc.
  • Alcohol or any kind of intoxicating drinks
  • Pets such as dogs, cats, etc.
  • Guitars and loud sound systems
  • Flammable materials such as alcohol, thinner, etc.
  • Cigarettes/lighters
