VIENTIANE – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Tuesday that his participation in the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits is aimed at looking for ways to address present challenges.
Marcos said this during his meeting with the Filipino community in Vientiane.
He mentioned that conflicts in Europe and Middle East, climate change, and transnational crimes have been affecting Filipinos who are working and living abroad, including those in Lao PDR.
“My participation and that of the Philippines in the ASEAN meetings is precisely to find ways to cooperate with partners to better meet the challenges of today, to forge a better future for our beloved Philippines,” Marcos said.
Marcos told Filipinos that he would push for the Philippines’ interest during his meetings with other member states.
Meanwhile, Marcos lauded Filipinos in Lao PDR, saying that he is proud of everything that they are doing.
The President also told them to continue being ambassadors of goodwill for the Philippines. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
