Beginning today, GMA Public Affairs will delight viewers with a new cooking and talk show hosted by Sparkle artist Mikee Quintos. The program, titled Lutong Bahay, aims to combine easy-to-make recipes with heartwarming stories, creating a cozy atmosphere for viewers in their homes.
As the “Paboritong Kapitbahay,” Mikee brings her infectious energy and charm to the show, featuring delicious dishes alongside inspirational anecdotes and candid conversations with guest celebrities.
In each episode, Mikee will be joined by three top food content creators, who will share their culinary expertise and personal stories. Together, they will visit the kitchens of various celebrities to uncover the inspiration behind the dishes that have shaped their lives.
One of the resident chefs is Chef Hazel Anonuevo, popularly known as “Cooking Ina” or Hazel Cheffy. With her relatable humor and engaging personality, Chef Hazel is sure to brighten the afternoons of Kapuso viewers. She was honored with the Top Foodie Creator Award during the TikTok Awards Philippines in 2022.
Joining her is Chef Ylyt Manaig, a new talent from the Sparkle GMA Artist Center. Known for her easy-to-follow recipes on TikTok, Chef Ylyt brings her engaging personality to the show, serving as “Wais sa Kusina.”
Adding to the flavor is Jaime de Guzman, affectionately known as Kuya Dudut. A member of the popular vlogging group “Team Payaman,” Kuya Dudut has experience cooking for social media personalities CongTV and Viy Cortez, making him a perfect fit as “Kumpare sa Kusina.”
The hosts have hinted at what viewers can expect from “Lutong Bahay.” Mikee promises a fresh perspective on celebrity personalities, saying, “Viewers will see a new side of their favorite stars. Along with sharing cherished recipes, we’ll also have new stories to tell.”
Chef Hazel adds, “Viewers will not only learn new recipes but also gain valuable life lessons through the diverse stories we share that I’m sure they can relate to.”
Chef Ylyt emphasizes the connection food creates, stating, “This show will highlight how food can foster a sense of community and home.”
Kuya Dudut echoes this sentiment, explaining that the dishes they prepare will evoke feelings of comfort. “All the meals we create are simple and made with common ingredients, easily found in any kitchen,” he says.
Through “Lutong Bahay,” Mikee and her fellow hosts will welcome a variety of celebrity guests who will reveal their own culinary secrets and personal experiences. Anticipated appearances include Ruru Madrid, Rocco Nacino, Aiai de las Alas, Pokwang, Chariz Solomon, Ninong Ry, and paranormal investigator Ed Caluag.
Lutong Bahay airs Monday to Friday at 5:45 p.m. on GTV. Global audiences can catch the show on GMA Life TV.
