A NEW batch of Filipinos has returned home from several countries in the Middle East, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) said.

On Wednesday morning, 32 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) arrived from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates on Philippine Airlines Flight PR659 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, OWWA said.

In the afternoon, 16 OFWs and one minor arrived from Lebanon via Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Saudia Flight SV862 at the same terminal.

The latest batch of OFWs brought the number of returning OFWs to 669, with 34 dependents.

So far, 703 Filipinos have come home since the start of the voluntary repatriation from Lebanon last year.

In addition, the DMW welcomed the final 10 crew members from the Greek-owned M/V Minoan Courage, which was attacked by Houthi rebels last October 1, in the Red Sea.

They arrived in the country on Wednesday via Etihad Airways Flight EY424. Eleven of their colleagues returned to the country last October 9 and 13.
