MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Nancy Binay filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) for mayor of Makati City before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday.

Binay filed her CoC together with former Makati congressman Monsour del Rosario her vice mayor.

Binay is the official candidate of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

Also joining Team Binay are the candidates for councilors for Districts 1 and 2.

Binay vowed to continue Makati’s highly regarded social services, emphasizing education to help stem the ongoing educational crisis. She said that she had gained insights from her work in the Senate on further improving governance in Makati.

According to Del Rosario, he would abide by the principle of “action at solusyon,” which he has practiced over his decades in public service.

Nancy is the eldest daughter of former vice president Jejomar Binay.
