The National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) has launched its Mobile Museum Boxes at Silliman University (SU) in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
As part of the festivities for Museums and Galleries Month, the 12 Mobile Museum Boxes showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of the Visayas Region were unveiled at the Rodolfo B. Gonzales Museum of Natural History (RBGMNH).
SU is the 11th host for the traveling exhibition within the Visayas region. Following the success of the launch of the mobile museum boxes, the NMP hopes to reach more communities and raise awareness about biodiversity conservation and protection.
The opening ceremony was attended by SU Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research Dr. Margaret Helen U. Alvarez and RBGMNH Museum Coordinator Esteven Theodore A. Nacar, along with NMP Botany and National Herbarium Division Museum Curator Jhaydee Ann F. Pascual, who gave brief remarks about the launch and an introduction to the exhibition, respectively.
The Mobile Museum Boxes exhibition will be available for viewing at the Rodolfo B. Gonzales Museum of Natural History until Feb. 27, 2025.
