The National Bureau of Investigation filed 16 complaints of falsification of public documents, perjury, and violation of the Anti-Alias Law against Yang Jian Xin or Tony Yang, brother of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang.
According to a statement on Friday, the complaints were filed after the NBI allegedly discovered how Yang used several of his aliases to establish and register several corporations with the Securities & Exchange Commission in Cagayan de Oro City.
“Respondent concealed his identity as a Chinese national, obtained a Filipino birth certificate, and used his Filipino name/s as incorporator of these corporations, thus committing falsification in the corporations’ Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws. He was also charged for committing Perjury and illegal use of alias,” the statement read.
The cases filed at the Office of the City Prosecutor of Cagayan de Oro City will undergo preliminary investigation while more complaints are bound to be filed in the coming days.
Yang was arrested at the Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on September 19.
“Yang has allegedly falsified information on SEC certification of Phil Sanjia Corporation. He will also be charged for violation of Social Security Act and Republic Act 11223 or the Universal Healthcare ct for the non-remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, and PagIbig contributions of Filipino employees of Sanjia Steel Corp,” said the Bureau of Immigration.
His brothers Hong Jiang Yang and Michael Yang have also been linked to POGOs. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
