SOME local government units in the National Capital Region have announced schedules for cemetery visits for All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.
Parañaque City said that the Manila Memorial Park will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 29, from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 3. From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, it will be open 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Loyola Memorial Park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 29, 30 and on Nov. 3. It is open 24 hours from Oct. 31 until Nov. 2 but closes at 10 p.m. on this day.
The Himlayang Palanyag will allow visitors starting at 7 a.m. from Oct. 29 to 31 and Nov. 3. For Nov. 1 and 2, the cemetery is open 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Parañaque Catholic Cemetery will allow visitors from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Oct. 29 to 30, Nov. 2 and 3. From Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, visitors are allowed from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Parañaque City said drunk visitors will not be allowed. It will also not allow cooking, smoking and bringing of lighter and gasoline inside its cemeteries.
The city will also ban liquor, sound systems, musical instruments, speakers or anything that creates loud sound as well as sharp objects such as knives and scissors.
In San Juan City, Mayor Francis Zamora said cemeteries will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Zamora said vendors with no special mayor’s permit will not be allowed near cemeteries. The city government will implement a rerouting scheme along Boni Serrano Avenue from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3.
The Pasay City Cemetery, meanwhile, will be open from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Oct. 29 until Nov. 2. The local government said the cemetery office is open from Nov. 1 to 2.
Malacañang has declared All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1 and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2 as special nonworking days. It earlier announced half-day classes and government work on Oct. 31 to allow employees to travel to and from the provinces to observe All Souls’ Day.
