From simply listening to him perform, it’s easy to believe that singer-songwriter Waltz is at ease in the R&B genre, but he stated he’s not interested in being associated with just one sound. He aims to become recognized as an adaptable and flexible musician by exploring a wide range of music styles.

In an interview with Manila Standard Entertainment during the release of his newest single, the singer-songwriter stated that he aspires to enchant listeners and be able to share his thoughts and feelings through the lyrics of his songs.

“My songs are like chameleons; they reflect my emotions and mental states when they are written,” he remarked. “My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. It can come from my own experience, the experiences of people I know, or just the everyday things that go on around me.”

Waltz has undoubtedly advanced in terms of his musical and lyrical ability with the release of his song, “Marahuyo,” which means to be enchanted in English.

Waltz’s ‘Marahuyo’ serves as his third song under record label EMI

“The lyrics and the song in general carry deep emotions, especially to me. It’s an emotional song, and I hope a lot of people can relate to this,” he said.

“Marahuyo” is Waltz’s third song, following the release of “Paano” and “Cindy” under the EMI record label.

It was released on all digital platforms on Sept. 27 and was recently featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Philippines playlist.

Co-written by Raquel Federico Gutierrez, “Marahuyo” serves as an ode to the people they care about and rely on for strength. The song also touches on overcoming insecurities, problems, and emotions with the support of those who believe in you.

Waltz began his solo career with the Viva Films song “Bahaghari.” Two years later, he joined Ant Savvy Artist management and released the song “Ikaw,” which was a turning point in his career.

When asked about potential collaborations, Waltz shared, “For international artists, I would love to collaborate with Maroon 5. As for local artists, I’d like to work with Flow G in rap because he’s incredibly talented. I’m also hoping to duet with either Moira or Janine Tenoso.”

Waltz is currently promoting the new single through bar and mall tours. It is now available on all digital music platforms.
