MANILA, Philippines — The Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) has said that it did not issue a certificate of nomination and Acceptance (CONA) to two individuals aspiring to be senators in the 2025 midterm elections.

This clarification followed reports suggesting that both Reilly Jose Jr. and Richard Nicolas had filed their certificates of candidacy (CoC) under KBL. These reports have led to public confusion, prompting the party to set the record straight.

Under the leadership of National President Efren A. Rafanan Sr., KBL reiterated that only he, Crisilie Garrido, and Joeme N. Errobare were authorized to sign and issue official CONAs. The party confirmed that neither Relly Jose Jr. nor Richard Nicolas was endorsed by KBL for any elective position in the upcoming elections, including the Senate.

KBL said that official announcements regarding its candidates would be made only through formal and verified channels. The party called on the public to disregard inaccurate reports and rely solely on its authorized communication platforms for election-related updates.

The statement highlights the party’s commitment “to its principles of governance and the importance of transparency as the 2025 elections draw near. KBL also stressed the need for responsible journalism, urging media outlets to verify information before publication to avoid further confusion among voters.

For any clarifications, KBL encourages the public to stay updated through official communication platforms, ensuring that all candidate endorsements and party-related announcements come directly from its leadership.

This move underscores KBL’s dedication to maintaining clarity and accuracy in its public communications, especially in the lead-up to the national elections. Below is a copy of the statement.
